Sony, BroadbandTV Launch ‘Breaking Bad’ YouTube Channel On Show’s 10th Anniversary

In honor of the tenth anniversary of the premiere episode of Breaking BadSony Pictures Television has unveiled an official YouTube channel for one of the most beloved TV series of our time.

The show’s YouTube destination will house official show clips as well as user-generated content, Variety reports. And fans will have the opportunity to have their compilations featured on the channel by using the hashtag #MyBreakingBadVideo on any posts. To fete the launch, series creator Vince Gilligan participated in a fireside chat with Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick at the YouTube Space LA (see below), where the two revisited pivotal moments from the series, and also shared behind-the-scenes insights.

Canadian digital entertainment giant BroadbandTV, which has worked with Sony Pictures Television on YouTube channel and content optimization since 2014, partnered with the studio to produce and curate content for the new Breaking Bad channel. “We’re creating premium original content, repurposed from an award-winning broadcast TV show, that unlocks further value from the IP,” BroadbandTV’s VP of interactive, Lewis Ball, said of the endeavor in a statement.

Breaking Bad debuted on Jan. 20, 2008 on AMC and concluded on September 9, 2013. The 16-time Emmy winner, starring Bryan Cranston, follows a downtrodden high school chemistry teacher who starts selling meth in order to make ends meet.
