For the second consecutive year, the Saban Community Clinic is honoring individuals who impact the creator economy both in front of and behind the camera. The largest provider of free and reduced-cost health care in Los Angeles is bringing back its Creators in Action gala, which celebrates digital media leaders while raising money to support the clinic’s operations.
The 2024 Creators in Action will be held on June 3, with The Studio by Tishman Speyer in Beverly Hills serving as the host venue. The two honorees occupy different corners of the creator economy, but they will both be feted for the work they have done to grow and expand the social ecosystem.
Shetty, the host of the podcast On Purpose, has used various ventures to dispense the wisdom he picked up during the time he spent living a monastic lifestyle. His book Think Like A Monk topped the New York Times bestseller list upon its release in 2020. He built on that success by launching a talent agency called House of 1212 and inking partnerships with brands like Calm and MasterClass.

Ducard played a key role in the creator economy during the ten years he spent at YouTube, where he served as the Global Head of Family and Learning. In 2021, Ducard left YouTube to join Pinterest. Since arriving at the image sharing service, Ducard has devised a content strategy that has opened up new opportunities for creators.
Creators in Action kicked off last year with an event that honored trailblazers Rhett & Link. The event raised more than $100,000 to fund the Saban Community Clinic’s services.
Brent Weinstein, who serves as the Chief Development Officer at holding company Candle Media and is a member of the Friends Board of the Saban Community Clinic, will chair the 2024 Creators in Action gala. “We were overwhelmed with the awareness and engagement that resulted from our inaugural Creators in Action Event, and in particular how it led to so many individuals and companies supporting the Saban Community Clinic for the first time,” Weinstein said in a statement. “As we embark on our second annual event, we could not be more proud to partner with Jay and Malik, who have always stood out as true purpose-driven leaders, and whose business accomplishments are only matched by their positive impact on our community.”
